지난 11월 11일 학과 정기특강에서 충북대학교 이은정 교수님께서 강의하신 내용의
“대수적인” 측면에 대해 설명합니다.

제목에서 언급한 (1) 대수 다양체들의 coordinate rings, (2) 일반선형군 General linear group의 유한차원 표현론, 그리고 (1) & (2)와 관련된 조합론적인 내용을 소개합니다. 예제들을 통해 기초적인 내용부터 설명할텐데, 벡터공간의 exterior power, Grassmann 다양체의 Plucker embedding 정도를 예습하고 오면 도움이 되겠습니다.

4. 제목 : Toric varieties in the flag variety

5. 초록 : Let $G$ be a simple Lie group and let $B$ be a Borel subgroup. The homogeneous space $G/B$ becomes a smooth projective variety, called the flag variety. A maximal (complex) torus $T$ acts on the flag variety and this produces an interesting connection between geometry, combinatorics, and representation theory. In this talk, we study a family of the most interesting $T$-invariant subvarieties of the flag variety, called the Schubert varieties. We consider \emph{toric} Schubert varieties (with respect to the action of $T$) and their isomorphism classes. This talk is based on joint work with Mikiya Masuda and Seonjeong Park.
